Holland Pairs: the website and the Android and iOS apps. Last updated 2026-10-06.
Holland Pairs is a small game run by one person. It has no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. This page says what the game does store and why.
Who is responsible
Edward van Kuik, Rua de Medancelhe 225, 4435-331 Rio Tinto, Portugal. Email: edward@nitric.pt.
What is stored
- The name you type. It is your display name in the game. It is sent to the game server, shown to the other players in your game, and kept with the result of each finished game. Results of games with two or more players appear on the public stats page under that name. You can use any name; it does not have to be your real one. The name is also saved in your browser or on your phone so you do not have to type it again.
- Game data. The board, the scores and the game code are stored on the server so that players can reconnect. Finished games are kept for the stats page.
- Chat messages (website only). The website has a chat for the players in one game. Messages are stored with that game on the server and are visible to the players and spectators of that game. The apps have no chat.
- Voice and video calls (website only). Calls run directly between the players' browsers (WebRTC). The server only passes the connection details. When a direct connection is not possible, the audio and video are relayed through a public relay service (Open Relay by Metered), and connection setup uses Google's STUN servers. Calls are not recorded. The apps have no calls.
- Server logs. The web server keeps standard connection logs, including IP addresses, for a short time for security and troubleshooting.
What is not done
- No data is sold or shared with anyone for advertising or profiling.
- No third-party analytics or advertising code runs in the game. Fonts and images come from the game's own server or are bundled in the app.
- The apps request no permissions beyond internet access.
Children
The game is suitable for all ages. It asks for a display name only. Please choose a nickname rather than a full name for children.
Your rights
If you want a name, a game result or a chat message removed, email edward@nitric.pt with the game code or the name used, and it will be deleted. You can also ask what is stored under a name.
Hosting
The server is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany. The app stores (Google Play, Apple App Store) handle the download and any crash reports under their own privacy policies.
